Whiskey: Woodinville Straight Rye
Woodinville Straight Rye is made from a 100% rye mashbill and uses no malted rye. Which means to kick off the conversion from starch to sugar for fermentation they use an external enzyme.

Washington state’s Woodinville Whiskey Company has this 100% straight rye as one of their core products. The whiskey has been aged for at least five years in full-size barrels, before being bottled at 45% ABV.
Woodinville Straight Rye Whiskey Tasting Notes
Nose: The nose reveals a wonderful balance of dried fruit and baking spices along with complex wood notes.
Palate: The palate is relatively mild for a 100% rye, but there is still plenty of cinnamon, clove, pepper, toffee, book-leather, and fresh-cut oak.
Finish: The finish is medium length with more spice and a thick texture.
Distillery Information
he story of Woodinville Whiskey Co. starts in 2010 with two best friends — founders Orlin Sorensen and Brett Carlile. They set out to create a great craft Whiskey, and these two gentlemen started things off right by enlisting the help of industry icon David Pickerell — the former master distiller at Maker’s Mark. So although their business is young, they’ve already won both Craft Whiskey of the Year and Craft Rye Whiskey of the Year for two years running from the American Distilling Institute.
