Wild Turkey 81 Proof was created by Associate Master Distiller Eddie Russell. For a spicy kick, Eddie uses the Wild Turkey famous high-rye mash bill. He then ages the whiskey for 6-8 years, longer than any other whiskey in this “weight class”, in hand selected American oak barrels with the famous #4 “alligator char” to get the most flavor from each barrel.

In 1869, the Ripy Brothers started distilling on Wild Turkey Hill near Lawrenceburg, Kentucky. Their early days went well and their Bourbon — Ripy Brother Bourbon — was selected to represent the State of Kentucky at the Chicago World’s Fair in 1893.
