Very Olde St. Nick Ancient Cask 15 Year Old Bourbon Whiskey Tasting Notes
Nose: A hint of orange/tangerine citrus is forward, matching the tangerine-peel color, but rich, giving a marmalade-treacle sense. Vanilla underneath.
Palate: Light on the tongue, with the citrus first sense quickly giving way to young leather. But the slight bitterness of the leather quickly reverts back to a tangerine-y sweetness. Interesting how quickly the taste sensations progress. The citrus is the main sense but for that brief, tannic middle.
Finish: Not short, but so light it seems almost a trick of memory. Very citric, which seems to be the theme here. Refreshingly cool.
