Jamaica XO, a blend of rums from several distilleries, and with no age statement other than an XO designation. It’s created in batches of 5000, and batches may vary in their source rum ratios. After blending, the Jamaica XO undergoes additional aging in used American oak barrels. There’s no sugar or coloring added to this rum, a hallmark of the Mezan lineup..
Mezan XO Rum Tasting Notes
Nose: Bananas and vanilla. A little burnt sugar with a touch of toffee brittle and peanut butter.
Palate: Plantains and walnut loaf. A touch of brandy butter, crème caramel and mixed spice.
Finish: Spicy finish with candied peels.

Hampden Distillery is the only distillery in Jamaica that specializes exclusively in the making of Heavy Pot Still rums.
